Understanding fees on Markets
At Markets, we believe in transparency. Our fee structure is simple, upfront, and designed to reward our most active traders.
Fees at a glance
Fee type | Rate | Applied to |
Trading fee | Scales with your 14-day volume (see tiers), plus 0.10% of your margin | Every time you open, close, or modify a trade |
Markets account fees | $0 | Holding your balance |
Keeping costs low
We’ve removed the platform fees common in traditional trading so you keep more of what you earn:
- $0 Markets deposit & withdrawal fees: Markets does not add any extra charges when you move your money.
- $0 account maintenance: No monthly subscriptions, platform fees, or inactivity penalties.
The trading fee
Markets App charges one trading fee every time you open, close, or modify a position. It has two components:
- A percentage of your total trade size (your notional). This rate gets lower as your trading volume grows.
- 0.10% (10 bps) of the margin you put up (the cash or credits backing the trade).
Volume tiers
Your trade-size rate is set by how much you've traded over the last 14 days. As your volume grows, your rate drops automatically.
14-day volume | Rate on trade size |
$0+ | 0.05% (5 bps) |
$1M+ | 0.04% (4 bps) |
$5M+ | 0.03% (3 bps) |
$20M+ | 0.02% (2 bps) |
The 0.10% margin component is the same across every tier.
Example
You open a $2,000 position using $200 of margin at a 10x multiplier, at the entry tier:
- 0.02% of $2,000 (trade size) = $0.40
- 0.10% of $200 (margin) = $0.20
Total fee: $0.60, or 0.03% of your trade size.
Fee limits
- Max fee: your fee never exceeds 0.10% (10 bps) of your trade size.
- Min fee: $0.10 for accounts under $100, $0.50 otherwise, but never more than the 10 bps cap.
Your trade-size rate updates as your 14-day volume moves between tiers. Your total trade size is your margin multiplied by your multiplier.
